My Story
Growing up in London and having access to some of the best art galleries inspired me to take up painting. Over the years painting has gone from a pastime to a passion, and is such a large part of my life through good and bad.
For me painting is a way to depict colour and form in an aesthetically pleasing way. My work allows me to explore a range of possibilities of subtle colour choice, composition, method of application, surface preparation, etc. I aim to create images that i do not have to defend with dense jargon, this may not be a popular view in some art circles, but to me, a painting should be first and foremost, a painting.

Paint making
Over the years I have learned to prepare my own paints, which i think gives me a greater understanding of my materials and their properties. I also feel that it links with the traditions of the past, where artists before me learned how to make paint for the masters as part of their training.
